Day 1: Nairobi to Naro Moru (Base Camp)

Depart Nairobi in the morning for Naro Moru, the traditional gateway to Mount Kenya. Check into the comfortable Mt. Kenya Youth Hostel base camp. After lunch, join a detailed trek briefing and gear check. The rest of the afternoon is free to relax and prepare. Dinner and overnight at the Youth Hostel campsite. (Meals: Lunch, Dinner)

Day 2: Naro Moru to Old Moses Camp (Sirimon Gate)

After an early breakfast, drive 1½ hours to Sirimon Gate (2,440 m). Complete registration, then begin the trek — a steady 3–4 hour walk covering 9 km through montane forest and heathland to Judmaier Camp (Old Moses Camp) at 3,350 m. Dinner and overnight at camp. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 3: Old Moses Camp to Shipton’s Camp

After breakfast, continue uphill, crossing the Ontulili stream several times. Follow the trail through open moorland, passing Liki North stream, and ascend into Mackinders Valley with stunning views of the main peaks. Arrive at Shipton’s Camp (4,200 m) for dinner and overnight. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4: Shipton’s Camp to Austrian Hut

Post-breakfast, tackle the steep Simba Col ridge — a one-hour climb via Simba Tarn. Enjoy breathtaking views of Delamere Peaks as you descend to Austrian Hut (4,790 m), your high camp for the night. Dinner and overnight at the hut. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5: Summit Day – Point Lenana & Descent to Met Station

Early start at 5:00 AM. Cross Lewis Glacier and reach Point Lenana (4,985 m) by around 6:30 AM in time for a spectacular sunrise over the mountain. After celebrating, descend to Mackinders Camp for breakfast, then continue down to Met Station for dinner and overnight. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6: Met Station to Nairobi

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed 9 km descent through tropical rainforest to Naro Moru Gate. Meet your 4×4 vehicle for the comfortable drive back to Nairobi, arriving by early afternoon. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch)
